Can I just say that this (The King’s Fool) is my favourite character ever. I remember I was totally devastated when I finished the Elderlings Series. I was depressed for two weeks straight. I haven’t been able to read it again ever since, because just remembering how much suffering he had to go through… Reading it again would be unbearable. And I actually read this 5 years ago, so it’s not a fleeting impression. I think the Fool’s also the one character that encouraged me to want to be so independent. I can’t believe how I’m still getting so emotional over this, though.
